Job summary

Jacksonville School District 117 is seeking a High School Special Education (LD/Resource) Teacher at Jacksonville High School. The teacher will serve students with diverse eligibilities in the resource setting, supporting their academics and daily living skills.

Under supervision, you will develop IEPs, assess progress, collaborate with staff and families, provide counseling, and maintain records to support student growth and success.

Qualifications

• State Certification as a Special Education Teacher (LBS 1).
• Bachelor's degree in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment.
• Successful prior special education teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maximize learning experiences for students with special needs by implementing district approved curriculum.
• Participate in IEPs & assist in developing IEPs.
• Maintain accurate records and communicate with parents and students.
• Coordinate with staff and outside agencies as needed.
• Provide counseling and act as liaison between home and school.
