Job summary

The State of Connecticut Technical Education and Career System (CTECS) is hiring a Special Education Instructor at Henry Abbott Technical High School in Danbury, CT. This full-time role focuses on educating students with IEPs and collaborating with classroom teachers to deliver reading, writing, and math instruction with appropriate accommodations.

You will manage IEPs, lead PPT meetings, document progress, and maintain records in compliance with state and federal requirements.

Qualifications

• The candidate must be endorsed for secondary education in Special Education.
• Experience with IEP development and PPT facilitation is preferred.
• Strong collaboration with academic and trade instructors.

Responsibilities

• Case manage assigned students and oversee IEP development and monitoring.
• Plan and deliver instruction with appropriate accommodations aligned to IEP goals.
• Collaborate with instructors to co-plan lessons and differentiate instruction.
• Maintain compliant records per district, state, and federal requirements.
• Facilitate PPT meetings and document student progress and needs.
• Design, administer, and report triennial evaluations using multiple methods.
