Claiborne County Schools seeks a Special Education Teaching Assistant (Educational/Instructional Assistant) to support grades 9–12 in a Tennessee public school district. The role provides instructional, behavioral, and personal support under the supervision of a licensed Special Education Teacher.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus a passing score on the ParaPro Assessment.
• At least 48 earned semester hours of college credit from an accredited institution.
• An Associate's degree or higher.

Responsibilities

• Academic & instructional support: follow the school calendar and support instruction to maximize student inclusion and IEP goals.
• Behavioral & social management: monitor behavior, supervise across school settings, and de-escalate crises as needed.
• Personal care & medical assistance: assist with ADLs, provide healthcare support under health staff guidance, and assist with mobility needs.
• Administrative & collaborative duties: collect data on progress, prepare instructional materials, and maintain confidentiality per FERPA.
