Qualifications

• Bachelor or master’s degree in Special Education from an accredited university
• Valid Arizona teaching certificate in Special Education
• AZ IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
• Other qualifications as the Board may deem appropriate

Responsibilities

• Maintains all aspects and provisions of confidentiality related to FERPA.
• Provides case management services for students on individualized education plans (IEP).
• Teaches content/skills in assigned subject area using adopted textbooks and enforces course of study.
• Plans lessons meeting individual needs, interests, and ability levels of students.
• Provides individual and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to students' needs.
• Communicates with parents and school counselors regarding student progress.
• Maintains attendance, lesson plans, IEPs and other records accurately.
