Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Special Education is required.
• Arizona teaching certificate in Special Education required.
• AZ IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card required.
• Other qualifications as the Board may deem appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Maintains FERPA confidentiality and records.
• Manages IEP caseload and compliance with regulations.
• Teaches content in assigned subjects using adopted textbooks.
• Plans lessons to meet individual student needs and abilities.
• Provides individual and small-group instruction to adapt curriculum.
• Maintains a safe and orderly learning environment.
• Supervises students inside and outside the classroom as needed.
• Pursues ongoing professional development and attends meetings.
• Encourages independent thinking and original ideas.
• Maintains standards of student behavior and records progress.
• Identifies student needs and collaborates with staff to support learning.
• Communicates with parents and school counselors about student progress.
• Decisions on retention and promotion are made as appropriate.
• Maintains attendance, lesson plans, IEPs, and related records.
