Peoria Unified School District in Glendale, AZ, invites applications for a Certified Teacher at Ironwood High School to teach High School Foreign Language for a 9‑month term on the District's Teacher Salary Schedule.

Candidates must hold or qualify for an Arizona Teaching Certificate and obtain an IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card. The teacher will develop engaging lesson plans, assess student progress, and support a safe, collaborative learning environment.

Qualifications

• Arizona Teaching Certificate or qualifications to become certified in the state of Arizona.
• Must possess or obtain an Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Background clearance may be required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement creative and engaging lesson plans.
• Document and share student grades and evaluations.
• Maintain safe, inviting, and nurturing spaces for students, staff, and the community.
• Set and uphold classroom behavior standards and district policies.
• Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and community members.

Requirements: A valid intern, provisional, or standard Arizona Teaching Certificate; or possess the necessary qualifications to become certified in the state of Arizona. Must possess or obtain an Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.

• Specialized teaching assignments may require additional training and/or certification
• Must be able to pass a background clearance check.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid government issued ID
• May be required to lift and carry heavy, bulky supplies and materials weighing up to 20 pounds
• May be required to lift students weighing up to 60 pounds
• May be required to work outside normal working hours
• May be required to travel to perform work functions
