Job summary

The Certified School Social Worker is responsible for supporting the academic, social, emotional, and behavioral development of high school students, with emphasis on those requiring tiered interventions and special education services.

This role involves counseling, educational planning, family engagement, collaboration with staff and community resources to ensure student success within a school setting.

Qualifications

• MSW required with Michigan School Social Worker License.
• Prior job experience preferred.
• Excellent written and oral communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide services to Title I students.
• Participate in educational planning, analyzing behavior and developing interventions.
• Administer MTSS for students in the education setting.
• Provide individual counseling or interventions in the general education setting.
• Implement PBIS and other best-practice interventions.
• Attend critical meetings (IEP/504/CTS) and coordinate with families.
• Develop and write IEPs and complete Medicaid billing for services.
