Job summary

Sunbelt Staffing in Bourbonnais, IL is seeking a compassionate School Social Worker for a maternity leave contract from August to October. The full-time position serves a high school with an approximate caseload of 40 students, providing counseling, assessments, and collaboration with staff and families.

You will participate in IEP meetings, connect families to community resources, and help with crisis intervention and documentation in line with regulations.

Qualifications

• Masters Degree in Social Work (MSW) required.
• Valid Illinois state licensure/certification as a School Social Worker.
• Professional Educator License (PEL) required.
• Previous experience in a school setting preferred.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling to support students social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
• Conduct assessments and develop intervention plans for students in need of support.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to improve student outcomes.
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to student support planning.
• Connect families with community resources and support services.
• Assist with crisis intervention and conflict resolution.
• Support attendance improvement and behavioral intervention strategies.
• Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with state and federal regulations.
