Job summary

The Bandon School District is seeking a Long-Term Substitute Teacher for High School Science to deliver engaging, standards-based biology, chemistry, physics, and environmental science instruction during the absence of the regular teacher.

You will maintain continuity of instruction, manage classroom operations, assess student progress, and foster a safe, inclusive learning environment for grades 9–12 while collaborating with the science department and administration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Science or related field is required.
• Valid state teaching certification or substitute credential required by state/district.
• Strong content knowledge in high school science.
• Ability to manage a classroom effectively and maintain safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Deliver daily science lessons aligned with standards for grades 9–12.
• Maintain continuity of instruction during teacher absence.
• Assess student progress and provide timely feedback.
• Communicate with parents/guardians as needed.
• Collaborate with department staff to ensure instructional continuity.
• Uphold laboratory safety procedures and appropriate use of equipment.
