Job summary

Young World Physical Education is looking for a dedicated Reading Intervention Teacher for Southeast High School in Kansas City, Missouri. The successful candidate will support students needing reading services through direct instruction and collaborative efforts. Candidates must hold a Missouri Elementary Teacher Certification and have substantial teaching experience.

Qualifications

• Hold a Missouri Elementary Teacher Certification and/or Reading Certification.
• Minimum of five (5) years of secondary teaching experience.
• Knowledge of the Missouri Learning Standards.
• Background experience in elementary reading instruction.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct instruction to students for reading intervention.
• Conduct assessments to provide targeted interventions.
• Analyze reading miscues and build learning progressions.
• Collaborate with families and school staff.
• Participate in staff development for literacy instruction.

Skills

Missouri Elementary Teacher Certification and/or Reading Certification

Secondary teaching experience

Knowledge of the Missouri Learning Standards

Knowledge of areas of reading instruction

Experience in elementary reading instruction
