Job summary

Student U in Durham, NC is seeking a High School Program Coordinator (Academic Focus) to lead planning and evaluation of programs serving 200 high school students and families. This full-time role reports to the Chief Program Officer and collaborates with a team to advance college readiness.

The ideal candidate brings a Bachelor's degree, 3+ years working with high school students, 2+ years of management, and a passion for equity.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree is required.
At least three years of experience working with high school students, Student U students, or in Durham Public Schools.
At least two years of management experience (type of management experience can vary).
Spanish proficiency preferred, but not required.
Experience in creating and implementing programs for Black and Latinx first-generation college students and their families.

Responsibilities

Plan & implement high school-wide events, which currently include but are not limited to U Prep Days and cluster meetings.
Oversee the Summer Academy Program including recruitment, selection and training of part-time staff, supporting students’ summer academic learning and social-emotional growth, and coordinating events.
Oversee 8th Grade Transition including leading transition meetings and planning Meet and Greet and Transition Dinner.
Co-Lead High School Year Round Programming by co-managing afterschool programming.
Co-Lead Advocate Program: recruit and select a team of 15-20 High School Advocates, develop professional development and tools to track student progress.
