Responsibilities

• Follows IEPs to improve behaviors under supervision of teachers and admin.
• Incorporates educational objectives into ongoing activities.
• Communicates with parents via a log and coordinates with classroom staff.
• Maintains neat student notebooks and materials; develops teaching aids.
• Assists students individually or in groups; supports learning concepts.
• Plans and updates instructional materials; supports progress reporting.
• Ensures student safety; participates in de-escalation as needed.
• May require assistance with toileting and lifting; reliable attendance.

Education

Teacher Assistant Pre-Employment Training Program (RI-DOE)

Associates or Bachelor's degree AND relevant TA coursework

High School/Trade School degree preferred
