Job summary

State of Connecticut - CT Technical Ed and Career System is seeking two paraeducators to support certified staff at J.M. Wright Technical High School.

The role focuses on delivering educational services, small-group support, and adherence to IEP accommodations under teacher supervision. Responsibilities include data collection, student progress monitoring, shop safety support, and collaboration with families.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of college training or an Associate’s degree.
• Passing score on ParaPro Assessment may substitute for General Experience.
• Experience with IEP-related accommodations is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides academic, technical, and organizational support to students individually and in groups.
• Assists certified staff with instructional activities, classroom preparation, assessments, and data collection.
• Supports classroom management and helps maintain safe, orderly learning environments.
• Supervises students in classrooms, technical areas, common spaces, and during school activities.
• Promotes safe practices and proper use of tools, equipment, and learning materials.
• Contributes to a positive classroom culture and builds relationships with students and families.
