Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Music Education, or related field.
• KSDE Music Teaching License or eligibility within one month of hire.
• Demonstrated knowledge of sound systems for musicals.

Responsibilities

• Instruct and direct orchestra groups (Chamber Orchestra, Concert Orchestra, Marching Band, Piano, Guitar, Music Theory).
• Organize and conduct multiple high school music performances (musicals) as approved by the department and district.
• Sponsor and organize large and small ensemble festivals and approved performances.
• Submit reports in a timely manner and participate in meetings.
• Obtain instructional resources and materials per administrator direction.
• Keep informed regarding technologies that support student learning.
• Support the JCHS mission and academy model.
• Communicate with administrators, staff, parents, students, and support agencies.
