Job summary

Geary County USD 475 is seeking an Assistant Athletics Coach – Middle School at Junction City Middle School. You will work with coaches and athletic directors to design, implement, and maintain a cohesive 7-12 athletic program.

The role reports to the Athletic Activities Director and Building Principal. The position requires knowledge of district and KSHSAA policies, collaboration with coaches, and a focus on student-athlete academic progress, safety, and program quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a job-related area preferred.
• KSDE certification preferred.
• CPR-First Aid certifications required.
• Able to work evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the lead coach to establish a comprehensive program that develops fundamentals.
• Monitor student athletes' academic progress and emphasize scholastic achievement.
• Prepare student athletes for the next level and ensure awareness of eligibility requirements.
• Provide a safe practice and competition environment and implement well-organized practice sessions and game plans.
• Maintain equipment, complete required paperwork, and coordinate with staff as needed.
