Job summary

Summer Search Bay Area is hiring a High School Mentor to manage a caseload of up to 44 students, delivering 1:1 mentoring and group sessions through sophomore and junior years. The role emphasizes equity, community engagement, and post-secondary readiness within a supportive program team.

The position is hybrid, based in Oakland, with responsibilities across school partnerships, data tracking in Salesforce, and program evaluation to improve outcomes for underserved youth.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of professional experience working with student populations served by Summer Search.
• Group facilitation experience is strongly desired.
• Proficiency in meticulous data tracking and management; experience using Salesforce or a similar database is a plus.
• Language skills in Spanish or Haitian Creole are a plus.

Responsibilities

• 1:1 Mentoring: mentor a caseload of up to 44 high school participants, in school, office, or by phone.
• Group mentoring: bi-weekly in-person sessions for sophomores and juniors, build multi-year relationships.
• Community engagement and partnerships: support outreach and establish relationships with partner high schools.
• Data, caseload management and learning: ensure weekly data collection in the program database and contribute to evaluation.
• Site-wide and network initiatives: attend regional events and support participant-facing activities.
