Job summary

Sylvan Learning Center in Timonium is seeking a Part-Time Math Tutor to help high school students master algebra, geometry, and calculus concepts in a supportive, individualized setting.

You will hold 1-hour blocks, work with up to three students at once, document progress, and coordinate with Center Directors on availability. Competitive pay and flexible scheduling offer a rewarding way to impact students’ confidence and achievement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or Math Education.
• Mastery and relatability of math concepts up to calculus.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Work in 1-hour tutoring blocks. (Up to 5 blocks per night, and up to 4 nights per week)
• Multitask: effectively tutoring as many as three students at a time.
• Observe and record students’ progress through pre-planned curriculum.
• Communicate clearly and quickly with Center Directors regarding availability and student concerns.
