Job summary

Sylvan Learning Center is seeking fun, dedicated teachers and tutors to help high school students with math homework and concepts using pre-built curriculums. Primary focus includes Algebra, Geometry, Algebra II, and Pre-Calculus, with sciences a plus.

You will work with students of various ages, mostly high school, in a small-group setting, using pre-planned lessons and strategies to boost confidence and understanding.

Qualifications

• Four year degree required in a discipline requiring 3 or more years of college level math.
• Advanced knowledge and familiarity with Algebra 1 & 2, Geometry and Trigonometry, Calculus.
• Minimum of one or two years teaching or tutoring experience preferred.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Knowledge of general office equipment such as copiers, printers, and office phones.
• Knowledge of tablet computers preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach Algebra, Geometry, Algebra II, and Pre-Calculus to high school students.
• Work with small groups (no more than 3 students per teacher).
• Use pre-built lessons; explain topics and guide student practice.
• Motivate and connect with each student to inspire learning.
• Schedule 2–5 days per week; not a remote position.
