Qualifications

• Masters Degree in Mathematics strongly preferred; Bachelors Degree in Mathematics required
• Valid NYS Teaching Certification (or in the active process of completing program)
• A passion for Mathematics with a desire to continue learning
• Experience teaching in a public or charter high school with track record of excellent student growth
• Experience writing/designing curriculum and lessons
• Experience differentiating for students of many abilities
• Demonstrated commitment to working with BIPOC teens from the South Bronx
• Demonstrated commitment to holding students accountable to high academic and personal standards and actively modeling these behaviors

Responsibilities

• Work with the Academic Director (STEM) to gather and use data to improve the math program
• Teach 4-6 sections of assigned Mathematics courses
• Regularly communicate with students’ families
• Lead an advisory for 20-25 students and liaise with families
• Collaborate with faculty to build an innovative school model
• Develop lesson plans with ICT Teacher and provide timely feedback
• Attend weekly meetings and professional development
• Incorporate equity into curriculum and collaborate across STEM
• Be receptive to feedback from colleagues and managers
• Perform other related duties as assigned
