About The Team

For this High School Math Teacher position, you’ll be working for one of our two high schools in Philadelphia. Philadelphia Magazine recently named Freire Charter High School (#18) and TECH Freire Charter High School (#26) among the top high schools in Philadelphia. What You’ll Do

As a member of Freire’s instructional team, you’ll work with high-quality, standards-aligned curriculum to promote critical thinking and high achievement in your classroom.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain a classroom culture of critical thinking, rigorous learning, respect, and high achievement for all students.
• Leverage content-specific curriculum and create learning materials to promote critical thinking and problem solving.
• Establish consistent communication with families regarding student progress and school information.
• Participate actively in professional development and collaborate with staff to support student needs.
• Teachers at Freire Charter High School (20th & Chestnut St.) may have the opportunity to be CREW Leaders, co-leading classes focused on SEL and community building twice a week.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher
• Valid state teaching certification or willingness to obtain one
• Strong content knowledge
• Positive attitude, sense of humor, and dedication
• At least 2 years of successful experience working with diverse student populations

Pay and Benefits

• Starting salary for first-year certified teachers is $60,000.
• Annual salary range: $50,000 - $85,000, based on experience and qualifications.
• Benefits include health, dental, vision, and a 403(b) retirement plan with a 5% employer contribution.
