Job description

At Cristo Rey Jesuit High School, we are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic teacher for the 2025-26 school year to lead 9th grade Algebra. As a teacher at our school, you will have the opportunity to not only educate students but also inspire and empower them to reach their full potential.

Responsibilities:
Instructional Practice
  1. Guided by the Cristo Rey Network’s standards and benchmarks, develop standards-based, data-driven annual, unit, and lesson plans that drive student-achievement gains on core assessments, including Cristo Rey Network end-of-course assessments.
  2. Design and administer interim assessments aligned to course standards, complete in-depth analysis of student performance on them, and design appropriate instructional responses to assessment results.
  3. Implement rigorous, engaging, high-impact lessons that accelerate student growth and differentiate for individual students.
  4. Provide targeted one-on-one and small-group tutoring to students during designated office hours.
  5. Actively build an understanding of each student as an individual in the spirit of cura personalis (care for the whole person).
  6. Help define, and consistently uphold, school-wide practices, routines, and norms for student behavior including PBIS (positive behavior interventions and support) and High Trust philosophies.
  7. Maintain a classroom culture that supports student learning.
  8. Reflect on teaching practices through regular coaching meetings guided by the Danielson Framework for Teaching.
Professional Presence
  1. Participate in continued professional development.
  2. Participate actively in the professional community through collaboration with colleagues in a range of contexts.
  3. Contribute to the Cristo Rey community outside of classroom responsibilities.
  4. Partner with the full Cristo Rey community to further the mission as a college preparatory school.
  5. Model values consistent with Catholic, Jesuit education and service to others.
  6. Participate in Ignatian Identity cohort meetings held every six weeks with the Director of Jesuit Mission and Identity to learn more about and engage with Jesuit and Ignatian values and spirituality, as well as attend an Ignatian Retreat for New Employees during the summer after their first year of employment, with expenses paid by the School.
