Job summary

Polaris Expeditionary Learning School in Fort Collins is seeking a 2026-27 long-term substitute for a high school math and science teacher. The assignment begins 9/21/2026 and runs through the fall semester, 100% time, with 188 work days. The rate is $185.00 per day, and a valid Colorado teaching license or Substitute Authorization is required.

PERA retirement is included as a benefit. Positions are within Poudre School District, a public K-12 option known for Expeditionary Learning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with proper teaching licensure program required.
• Experience instructing students in a classroom setting preferred.
• Criminal background check required for hire.
• Valid Colorado teaching license with appropriate endorsements required.
• CPR and First Aid certifications encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Instruct secondary students in math and science using current curriculum.
• Develop, plan, prepare, and implement course content and schedule.
• Create a classroom environment that supports instruction and student wellbeing.
• Communicate student progress and needs to parents/guardians and staff.
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to improve outcomes and engage families.
