The Wakefield Public Schools is seeking an enthusiastic, student-centered mathematics teacher to teach Algebra 1 and Geometry at Wakefield Memorial High School starting in January 2027. This is a 12-week position that may extend through the rest of the 26-27 school year. Interested individuals should demonstrate the ability to facilitate engaging, accessible lessons that develop students’ conceptual understanding, procedural fluency, problem-solving skills, and mathematical reasoning. Candidates should be committed to using a variety of instructional strategies, representations, and opportunities for mathematical discourse to engage learners and support students with diverse learning needs. The successful candidate will be supported by a collaborative Professional Learning Community (PLC) and dedicated department leaders who provide ongoing collaboration, instructional support, and opportunities for professional growth.
Salary paid at $150 per day if position is only 12 weeks.
Salary paid at the Unit A Contracted 184 day B1 Rate __ $63,320 prorated for the number of days actually worked in the school year if position extends to the end of the year.
