Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Certification required by Bureau of Indian Education (BIE) and the State of Iowa.
• Experience planning and delivering diverse classroom activities across grades.
• Ability to engage with families and maintain accurate records.

Responsibilities

• Plan and organize learning activities for the class with regard to individual differences and needs.
• Adopt teaching strategies considering each student's culture and educational needs.
• Maintain order and discipline per Meskwaki Settlement School policy.
• Create a positive and secure school climate to support learning.
• Prepare daily and yearly curricular plans and maintain progress records.
• Evaluate student progress and tailor instructional methods accordingly.
• Report regularly to parents/guardians about student progress.
• Collaborate with Principal and colleagues on program development and activities.
• Participate in extracurricular and cultural activities.
• Follow the Teacher Code of Ethics.
• Attend staff meetings and support curriculum development.
