Job summary

Meskwaki Settlement School is seeking a Meskwaki Language Teacher to manage daily operations and deliver Meskwaki Language/Culture instruction in the classroom. You will plan activities, tailor lessons to student needs, and maintain records while upholding PBIS guidelines.

The role emphasizes developing a positive learning environment, collaborating with general education staff, and reporting progress to families. A background check and drug screen are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• AA degree or equivalent preferred.
• Background check and pre-employment drug screen required.

Responsibilities

• Shall be responsible for the daily operation, development, and implementation of the Meskwaki Language/Culture in the classroom.
• Plan and organize learning activities with regard to individual student needs.
• Maintain classroom and school order per PBIS guidelines.
• Prepare unit plans and lessons aligned with the Language & Culture Curriculum.
• Evaluate progress and adjust instructional methods accordingly.
• Enter grades and maintain records quarterly and at semester end.
• Develop a positive learning environment and communicate with parents/guardians as needed.
• Collaborate with general education staff to integrate Meskwaki into broader units.
• Attend staff meetings and professional development as directed.
