Job summary

Sac and Fox Tribe of Iowa seeks an assistant teacher to promote respect for students and staff while supporting Meskwaki language and culture in the classroom. You will assist the lead teacher with daily activities, prepare materials, and help keep bulletin boards and papers organized.

Under supervision you will participate in classroom duties, refer inquiries appropriately, and support extracurricular activities, while upholding confidentiality and respectful engagement with students.

Qualifications

• AA degree required.
• Additional training as requested by supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Assist the classroom teacher with maintaining discipline and preparing materials.
• Help with bulletin boards, copying, and distributing papers.
• Support Meskwaki language and culture in classroom activities.
• Refer concerns to supervising teacher as directed.
• Attend staff meetings and help with extracurricular activities as needed.
• Follow confidentiality and classroom procedures.
