Chicanos Por La Causa, Inc.'s Avance is seeking a High School Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. You will provide instruction aligned to AZ standards, differentiate for diverse learners, and contribute to college-ready outcomes in a nonprofit charter high school.

This full-time role offers a $2,000 signing bonus and a benefits package. You will collaborate with colleagues, develop assessments, and engage families to support student achievement in a caring, student-centered environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master’s degree in education or content area
• Arizona Teaching certification required
• Comprehensive knowledge of the AZ Standards
• Must possess a valid Class 1 or Class 2 Fingerprint Clearance Card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety
• Willingness to collaborate with colleagues in planning for academic improvement
• Willingness to teach multiple grades and subject levels
• Willingness to differentiate instruction
• Willingness to oversee/advis extracurricular activities
• Willingness to work with students before or after school to support growth

HOW WILL YOU MAKE AN IMPACT IN THIS ROLE?

• You will provide quality instruction pertinent to the applicable area, as well as provide extensive knowledge of cooperative learning strategies, differentiation, and small group instruction.
• You should have knowledge of developing formative and summative assessments to inform instruction, have the ability to incorporate research‑proven teaching strategies into daily lesson delivery, and be familiar with the AZ State Standards and ACT Standards.
• You will work with diverse populations.
• You will maintain a strong classroom presence and develop daily, and unit lesson plans that are thoughtful, goal‑oriented, and aligned with the curriculum.
• You will master the necessary content knowledge and skills to successfully teach assigned content area(s) and grade level(s)

• You are able to maintain a positive attitude and build positive and appropriate relationships with students
• You are excellent at communicating with students, parents and staff
• You are collaborative and can work with colleagues to create and implement interdisciplinary standard‑base project learning

• You are organized and detail oriented to be able to maintain accurate student records including progress reports and report cards.

SPECIALIZATIONS

• Deep understanding of inquiry‑based instruction
• Experience teaching upper‑level math and science preferred
• AVID experience or certification, preferred

Minimum Qualifications And Competencies

Education /Background:

• Bachelor or Masters degree in education or content area required
• Arizona Teaching certification required
• Comprehensive knowledge of the AZ Standards
• Must possess a valid Class 1 or Class 2 Fingerprint Clearance Card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety
• Willingness to collaborate with colleagues in planning for academic improvement in academic areas other than your own, as needed
• Willingness to teach multiple grades and subject levels
• Willingness to differentiate instruction
• Willingness to oversee/ advise extracurricular activities (student clubs, intramural sports, music instruction, etc.)
• Willingness to work with students before or after school to support their academic growth
• Experience utilizing community experts and community resources to enhance content instruction preferred
• Experience building student and parent relationships to improve student achievement
• Experience working with an underserved student population
