Job summary

East Side Union High School District in California seeks an instrumental music coach to support one or more district high schools' marching band programs. You will work with the credentialed teacher on site, providing instruction, rehearsal prep, and performance support for students of varying skill levels across multiple school sites.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching marching technique.
• Experience in wind and brass pedagogy, rehearsal planning and implementation.
• Experience teaching high school-aged students.
• Experience teaching small and large group instruction.

Responsibilities

• Assist teaching all aspects of Marching basics to all wood wind and brass members.
• Direct sectionals for woodwinds and brass members.
• Attend and assist director at rehearsals.
• Attend and assist at performances as scheduled with the director.
• Stay advised as to the director's goals and agendas as to the timelines/deadlines for materials to be produced and/or learned by the students.
• Foster student creativity, discipline, and teamwork in a culturally responsive and inclusive environment.
