Job summary

The Met is seeking a Literacy Interventionist to provide targeted literacy support for high school students across The Met's Providence campuses. You will use diagnostic data and evidence-based practices grounded in the Science of Reading to identify needs and accelerate reading growth.

You will collaborate with advisors, learning specialists, school leaders, and families to deliver structured literacy instruction, monitor progress, and implement PLPs within MTSS across multiple campuses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required.
• Rhode Island Reading Specialist/Consultant Certification PK–12 required or ability to obtain RI certification.
• Proficiency requirements for Rhode Island Right to Read literacy interventions.

Responsibilities

• Provide explicit, systematic, evidence-based literacy intervention to individual students and small groups.
• Deliver Structured Literacy instruction addressing foundational reading, fluency, vocabulary, and writing.
• Administer and analyze literacy assessments to identify needs and adjust instruction.
• Design and monitor Tier II and Tier III literacy interventions within MTSS.
• Develop and monitor Personal Literacy Plans (PLPs) and coordinate support.
• Maintain a caseload across campuses with schedules and progress data.
• Collaborate with advisors, learning specialists, and families to support literacy.
• Participate in MTSS and IEP meetings with literacy input and recommendations.
• Provide coaching and resources to educators to strengthen literacy practices.
• Offer school-wide professional learning on adolescent literacy and Structured Literacy.
