Job summary

Wake County Public School System is seeking a Job Coach to support students in the Occupational Course of Study program. You will provide job skill training, coaching, and development, coordinating with SES staff and community partners to place students in suitable work-based experiences.

The role requires HQ paraprofessional standards, CPI certification, and a valid NC driver's license; you will work Monday through Friday with occasional evenings.

Qualifications

• HQ standards for paraprofessionals per ESSA.
• Two years of higher education or 48 credits.
• Pass ACT WorkKeys assessment and 96 hours of in-service training.
• Completion of NC DOL Apprenticeship or NCATA PDP or Paraprofessional Certification.
• Experience with individuals with special needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide job skill training and coaching for students in the OCS program.
• Identify and develop CBVT sites, paid employment, and on-campus options.
• Develop job task analyses and individualized training plans.
• Supervise job skills training on-site and monitor performance.
• Conduct vocational assessments to guide transition planning.
• Consult with teachers on student strengths and interventions.
• Support IEP meetings with input on job skills progress.
• Assist students with job searching and interview readiness.
• Promote self-determination and work-related behaviors.
