Qualifications

• Valid or pending Massachusetts DESE Guidance licensure.
• Experience working with high school students as a guidance counselor.
• Experience building collaborative relationships with parents and professionals.
• Experience using Naviance and student information systems.
• Excellent writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Counsel students individually in personal/social, academic and career/college realms.
• Assist in career and post-secondary planning; write recommendations for college, private school, and other programs; submit applications electronically.
• Develop and teach guidance seminars and parent presentations.
• Assist students in developing academic schedules.
• Consult with teachers and parents regarding students’ academic, emotional and behavioral programs.
• Work with special educators on IEPs/504s and review testing; update education plans.
• Coordinate practice ACT, PSAT, and AP exams.
