Job summary

Adrian Public Schools is seeking a Graduation Coach at Adrian High School to support at‑risk students with academics, attendance, and social‑emotional needs. The role includes tutoring, home visits, and monitoring progress to encourage graduation.

The position reports to the principal and requires development of credit recovery strategies, collaboration with staff and families, and data‑driven program evaluation over 181 work days at 7 hours per day.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree preferred.
• Three to five years teaching/counseling/social work/at‑risk youth experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify high school students at risk using profiles from the National Dropout Prevention Network.
• Collaborate with school leadership and service providers to identify or develop community intervention services.
• Develop credit recovery and alternative programming options for at‑risk students.
• Attend and participate in required trainings provided by MDE, Adrian High School and Communities in Schools.
• Develop and implement intervention strategies to help students stay in school and graduate.
• Create graduation career plans with students.
• Collaborate with middle schools to identify incoming students at risk of high school failure.
• Coordinate with teachers and counselors to support transitions for 8th graders and freshmen.
• Connect students and families with community mentors and programs.
• Provide outreach to parents/guardians of at‑risk students.
• Track progress of students and subgroups; analyze program effectiveness.

Education
