Job summary

Orting High School is seeking an Assistant Girls' Basketball Coach to support the high school program in the 2026-27 winter season. The position reports to the Director of Athletics & Activities and requires after-school availability (2:15 pm on Mon-Thu, 12:45 pm on Fridays). Location is Orting High School.

Salary follows the 2026-27 OXA Extra Curricular Salary Schedule Appendix A. Applicants should meet the listed qualifications and complete SafeSchools trainings within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Experience coaching or participating in basketball preferred.
• Knowledge of basketball techniques and strategies.
• Meet Washington State Coaching Standards (WIAA).
• Ability to communicate positively with students, parents, staff and community.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills to support a solid high school program.
• Experience motivating teens to excel academically through sportsmanship.
• Must be at least 19 years old and have a high school diploma or GED.
