Job summary

Orting High School, a member of the 2A SPSL, seeks an Assistant Girls' Basketball Coach (Non-Continuing) at Orting High School for the 2026-27 season. Responsibilities include supporting the head coach, organizing practices, and helping students develop basketball skills and sportsmanship.

Applicants should be at least 19, have a high school diploma or GED, and hold current first aid/CPR certification. Flexible schedule and after-school availability are required.

Qualifications

• Experience coaching or participating in basketball is preferred.
• Knowledge of basketball techniques and strategies.
• Must meet Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA) coaching standards.
• Ability to communicate positively with students, parents, staff and community.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills to support a high school program.
• Successful experience working with teenage athletes.
• Ability to motivate teens to reach their potential through sportsmanship.
