Job summary

Orting School District is seeking an Assistant Boys Basketball Coach (Non-Continuing) for Orting High School. The position requires coaching experience, positive communication with students and families, and adherence to WA State Coaching Standards.

Immediate availability after school is noted, with the 2026-27 season specifics outlined in the district schedule. The role is part of the high school athletics program with duties connected to after-school activities and ongoing program support.

Qualifications

Experience coaching basketball is preferred.
Knowledge of basketball techniques and strategies.
Be able to meet all WA IAA requirements for the Washington State Coaching Standards.
Ability to communicate positively and effectively with students, parents, staff and community member.
Effective written and oral communication skills.
Strong organizational skills necessary to support running a solid highschool program.
Successful experience working with teenage athletes.
Ability to motivate teens to reach their highest potential academically through sportsmanship.
