Leyden High School District 212 is seeking a qualified Long-Term Guest English Teacher for the full 2nd semester of the 2026/2027 school year. You will teach English I and English III, plan instruction, and assess standards-based outcomes, with daily instruction at Leyden facilities.

Compensation is a daily rate of $345.00, with a schedule from 7:25 a.m. to 3:10 p.m., and opportunities to collaborate with the department and instructional coaches.

Qualifications

• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) or equivalent for High School English.
• Proficient in subject matter and instructional pedagogy.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsabilités

• Plan, deliver, and assess standards-aligned instruction for English I and English III courses.
• Integrate technology into instruction using a district-provided loaner laptop.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance and grades.
• Submit report card grades and monitor athletic eligibility.
• Contact parents/guardians regarding student progress as needed.
• Attend contractual evening events, including Open House and Parent/Teacher Conferences.
• Collaborate with Department Chairperson, grade-level colleagues, and instructional coaches on curriculum and instruction.
• Follow the assigned schedule, including school-wide service and Eagle time.
