2024-25 Compensation Update: Our teachers are the best in the biz, and Freire Schools is excited to be leading the way in compensating teachers for the tremendous impact they make on our kids. Effective for the 2024-2025 school year, salaries for certified teachers entering their first year of teaching start at $60,000 in our Philadelphia campuses, and $55,000 at Freire Wilmington. In addition to some of the highest starting salaries in the Philadelphia region, Freire Schools offers a top-tier benefits package, a strong commitment to developing all staff as professionals, and the opportunity to work with the best students in the region.

Established in 1999, Freire Schools (www.freireschools.org) is a network of four charter schools across Philadelphia and Delaware whose mission is to prepare students from historically underserved communities for success in college and beyond. For this High School English Teacher position, you’ll be working for one of our two high schools in Philadelphia. Philadelphia Magazine recently named Freire Charter High School (#18) and TECH Freire Charter High School (#26) among the top high schools in Philadelphia. While we’re proud of our accomplishments, we’re not bound by tradition—if something isn’t working, we are permissionless in fixing it. The annual salary range for this role is $50,000 - $85,000. We offer a competitive salary based on your experience and qualifications. Our benefits package includes health, dental, vision, and more. Pennsylvania employees are enrolled in Freire’s 403(b) retirement plan which includes a 5% contribution from Freire.
