Job Description

Residency Requirements: Alabama

Salary: $44,000 annually

Start Date: July 17, 2025

The remote CTE Teacher is a state-certified and/or alternatively certified CTE Teacher responsible for delivering specific course content online. The teacher provides instruction, support, and guidance, manages the learning process, and focuses on students' individual needs. Monitoring student progress through K12's learning management system, the teacher works actively with students and parents to advance learning and develop post-secondary plans using online tools like Career Builder, Career Cruising, etc.

This is a full-time position, typically requiring 40+ hours per week. Candidates must be able to work independently during standard school hours, maintaining a professional home office environment.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences
  • Personalize learning for all students
  • Maintain positive rapport with families and communicate regularly with students and parents
  • Support students and parents with instructional issues and troubleshooting
  • Develop instructional tools and strategies to enhance curriculum
  • Collaborate with the school and professional learning communities
  • Administer and proctor assessments as applicable
  • Serve as an advisor for Career & Technical Student Organization
  • Support business and industry partnerships for work-based learning
  • Support project-based learning models
  • Travel up to 20% for professional development and testing

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Active state teaching license
  • Ability to clear background check

  • Ability to interpret student data and adapt instruction accordingly
  • Receptive to coaching
  • Embrace change for student success
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Quick learner of new technologies
  • Maintain certification and professional development hours

  • Experience with the target age group
  • Support experience with technology for adults and children
  • Experience teaching online or in-person
  • Familiarity with online learning platforms

Work Environment:

  • This is a home-based position
