Qualifications

• Master's degree in School Counseling from an accredited institution.
• North Carolina School Counselor licensure preferred or required per policy.
• Experience with high school students is preferred.
• Knowledge of graduation requirements, academic planning, scheduling, and college/career readiness.
• Familiarity with ASCA model and school counseling practices.

Responsibilities

• Establish, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive school counseling program aligned with school goals and standards.
• Use student data to identify needs, set priorities, develop interventions, and evaluate effectiveness.
• Provide individual and group counseling for students with academic, behavioral, social-emotional, or attendance concerns.
• Monitor progress toward graduation and coordinate appropriate interventions.
• Collaborate with administrators, teachers, families, and Student Services staff.
• Assist with course selection, academic planning, and four-year graduation plans.
• Maintain accurate student records and scheduling within timelines.
• Coordinate Governor's School nomination and McKinney-Vento liaison duties.
• Communicate proactively with students, families, and staff; participate in professional development.
