Job summary

Ganado Public Schools is seeking a Counselor for 9th-12th grade to support students’ academic and social-emotional development. You will manage schedules, provide course information, and offer recommendations to students and parents.

Responsibilities include counseling students and guardians, coordinating with teachers and college personnel, and developing programs to assist in post-secondary planning. A 11-month position in a high school setting is described.

Qualifications

  • Requires knowledge of assessment instruments and techniques.
  • Experience with counseling-related software and record-keeping systems.
  • Master's degree in Guidance/Counseling or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Counsels students and guardians to enhance academic and social-emotional success.
  • Coordinates with teachers, college personnel, and community resources for referrals.
  • Develops career-related programs and workshops for students.
  • Monitors student progress and initiates interventions as needed.
  • Prepares scholarship and college applications and other student documentation.
  • Schedules classes to meet graduation and college eligibility requirements.
  • Supervises programs such as scholarships or ESL to support student outcomes.
