Job summary

Salem R-80 School District is seeking a Construction Trades Teacher for its high school program. The instructor will deliver classroom, lab, and on-site instruction in construction trades to prepare students for workforce entry, apprenticeships, military service, or post-secondary education.

Qualifications

• Missouri DESE Career Education Teacher Certification (CTAC) eligibility via DESE routes.
• Experience or coursework aligning with Career and Technical Education standards.
• Ability to obtain CTAC and progress toward ICEC and certification renewal.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain course syllabi, curriculum maps, and lesson plans aligned to DESE standards.
• Provide classroom, laboratory, and hands-on construction experiences.
• Teach construction-related skills: carpentry, blueprint reading, safety, math, and workplace readiness.
• Monitor student performance and maintain records of grades and progress.
• Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and industry partners to support program goals.

Education

Bachelor7s degree or higher (requires DESE CTAC pathway)

Associaterom accredited college with 5,000 hours experience

No degree with 6,000 hours experience in past 10 years
