Job summary

Qualifications

• Missouri Career Education certification via DESE CTAC pathway or eligible.
• Hours-based experience options within past ten years per DESE routes.
• Willingness to complete required college coursework and certification renewal.
• Must obtain CTAC and progress toward ICEC.
• Strong knowledge of construction trades, safety, blueprint reading, construction math.
• Ability to work with admin, mentor teacher, and industry partners.
• Adhere to DESE guidelines and district policy during certification.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain syllabi, curriculum maps, and lesson plans aligned to DESE standards.
• Provide classroom, lab, and hands-on construction instruction.
• Teach carpentry, framing, blueprint reading, tool safety, construction math, and workplace readiness.
• Monitor and assess student performance and maintain records.
• Maintain safety and supervise students in classrooms, labs, and worksites.
• Coordinate student participation in work-based learning and internships.
• Promote CTSO involvement (e.g., SkillsUSA).
• Contribute to curriculum review and program improvement.
