Job summary

Warsaw Community High School in Warsaw, Indiana, is seeking an Assistant Baseball Coach to support the Head Coach and lead by example in a competitive program.

The role involves planning practices with the Head Coach, attending practices and contests, supervising discipline, and helping organize camps and scouting as designated.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, prior playing experience, and previous coaching at high school or youth levels.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Playing experience in high school and/or college athletics.
  • Previous coaching experience at the high school level and/or other youth sport levels.

Responsibilities

  • Coaches as directed by the head coach in teaching the skills necessary for excellent achievement by WCHS athletes
  • With the head coach, plans and schedules appropriate practices
  • Attends all practices and contests as scheduled
  • Attends all staff meetings called by the head coach
  • Assists with the processing of all paperwork pertaining to the team and the total program
  • Enforces discipline and sportsmanlike behavior at all times; assists with the establishment of and oversees penalties for breach of such standards by individual players
  • Assists with the development of their respective program at all levels via attending games as designated by the head coach
  • Assists with: weight programs, conditioning workouts, open facilities, camps, and scouting as designated by the head coach
  • Performs other reasonably- related duties as may be assigned by the head coach
  • Maintains compliance with all WCS, WCHS, and IHSAA policies/by-laws
  • Attends all end of season awards programs
