Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Valid Level One IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card required.
• Prior coaching experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Organizes organizational meetings for team prospects and encourages potential athletes to participate in the sport.
• Assesses players’ skills and assigns team positions.
• Develops regular practice schedules and organizes practice time for individual and team development.
• Schedules facilities for practices and competition with the athletics director.
• Assigns duties to assistant coaches as necessary.
• Coaches players, individually or in groups, on rules, equipment, and techniques of the sport.
• Observes players during competition to identify individual or team improvement needs.
• Determines game strategy based on team capabilities.
• Maintains standards of behavior and supervision of athletes at all times.
• Monitors academic performance to ensure eligibility and encourage high standards.
• Conferences with parents regarding athletic performance.
• Represents the team and promotes the sport to booster clubs and organizations.
• Maintains equipment, supplies, and uniforms records and processes.
• Develops policy for awards and submits winners list at season end.
• Participates in events such as parent nights, banquets, and pep assemblies.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
