Qualifications

• Coaching certification required.
• Valid First Aid/CPR certification.
• Concussion awareness training completed.
• Fingerprint clearance card (IVP) required.
• One year of coaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Holds organizational meetings for team prospects and encourages potential athletes to participate in the sport.
• Assesses players' skills and assigns team positions.
• Develops a regular practice schedule and organizes practice time for individual and team development.
• Works with the athletics director to schedule facilities for practices and competitions.
• Assigns duties to assistant coaches as necessary.
• Coaches and instructs players on rules, equipment, and techniques of the sport.
• Observes players during competition and practice to identify needs for improvement.
• Determines game strategy based on team capabilities.
• Maintains standards of behavior and supervises athletes at all times.
• Monitors academic performance to ensure eligibility and encourage high academic standards.
• Follows procedures for athlete injuries and communications with guardians as needed.
• Models positive behavior and communicates with booster clubs and other organizations.
• Maintains equipment, supplies, and uniform records; supports end-of-season awards processes.
• Possibly transports athletes to off-campus games using district transportation.
• Engages in activities like parent’s night and pep assemblies.
