Job summary

Canton Public Schools in Connecticut is seeking a Licensed Athletic Trainer to provide comprehensive athletic training and healthcare services to student-athletes participating in the district's interscholastic athletic programs.

You will develop injury prevention programs, evaluate and treat injuries, administer first aid, manage rehabilitation, and coordinate return-to-play protocols, working closely with coaches, nurses, physicians, and families to promote health and safety.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as an athletic trainer in a secondary school or interscholastic athletic setting.
• CPR/First Aid and AED certification (instructor certification strongly preferred).
• Experience with concussion management and return-to-play protocols.
• Knowledge of Connecticut interscholastic athletic regulations and requirements.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work effectively and professionally with students, families, coaches, administrators, school nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement programs for the prevention of athletic injuries.
• Evaluation and treatment of injuries.
• Administration of first aid and emergency medical care.
• Development and administration of rehabilitation programs.
• Coordination of appropriate return-to-activity and return-to-play protocols.
