Job summary

The Lansing School District in Lansing, MI is seeking a High School Athletic Director to lead all interscholastic athletic programs at the building level. You will supervise coaches, manage daily operations, and ensure compliance with district, league, and state regulations.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in education, sports management, or a related field.
Prior experience in coaching and/or athletic administration.
Knowledge of MHSAA and league regulations.
Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.
CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain); teaching certificate preferred.

Responsibilities

Direct and supervise all high school athletic programs, teams, and events.
Recruit, mentor, and evaluate coaches in collaboration with district leadership.
Develop equitable opportunities for all students to participate in athletics.
Oversee budgeting, equipment, and purchasing within district guidelines.
Coordinate facility schedules, officials, transport, and event staff for home events.
Ensure compliance with district, league, and state regulations; communicate with stakeholders.
Promote sportsmanship, student-athlete academic achievement, and safety protocols.
