Job summary

Henderson County Schools Atkinson Elementary in Hendersonville, North Carolina is seeking a part-time Teacher - AIG Specialist (50%). This 10-month, 4-hour-per-day role reports to the Principal and begins Aug 5, 2026. The candidate will lead gifted instruction, develop tailored plans, and maintain records per district practices while collaborating with parents and staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an approved education program in subject area.
• Valid NC Teaching License or eligible to obtain one.
• National Board Certification is a preferred qualification.
• Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Responsibilities

• Plan a program of study that meets the needs, interests, and abilities of all students.
• Create a classroom environment that encourages student involvement and enables each student to achieve learning objectives.
• Plan for and utilize instructional methods, resources, and evaluation techniques that motivate and enable each student to achieve learning objectives.
• Monitors student performance and growth.
