Edward Murrow High School is seeking a 2026-2027 School Aide to support teachers and administrative staff. The role includes supervising students in lunch, hallways, and breaks, handling textbooks and clerical tasks, and assisting with school operations to maintain a safe learning environment.

Qualifications

• No high school diploma or GED required.
• Excellent record of attendance and punctuality.
• Demonstrated ability to work with supervisors and other school-based staff.
• Demonstrated history of good human relations.
• Demonstrated ability to efficiently carry out assignments.
• Bilingual candidates may be considered for schools with student or familial language needs.
• Ability to walk or stand for long periods of the day.
• Ability to lift objects weighing no more than 10 lbs.
• Experience working with students, preferably high school-age; ability to hold high school students to high expectations.
• Team player with a strong sense of personal responsibility.
• Hard-working, urgent, and energetic.

Responsibilities

• Relieves teachers of non-teaching duties under supervision.
• Relieves teachers for yard, hall, lavatory, study hall and other monitorial duties.
• Handles, stores, and distributes textbooks and materials.
• Assists with routine clerical work.
• Maintains order in lunchroom and assists lunch service.
• Assists in school clerical work of a routine nature.
• Checks reports, notes, library lists, etc.
• Assists with arrival and departure of bus-transported children.
• Receives children in lunchroom and directs them to washing, wraps disposal, and lunch line.
