Job summary

Capac Community Schools in Michigan is seeking a full-time high school science teacher to deliver district-approved curriculum and foster student growth toward state standards. The teacher will maintain an organized, safe classroom and provide varied instructional approaches to support diverse learners.

The ideal candidate holds a valid Michigan Secondary Education teaching certificate with a science endorsement and related endorsements, with preference for Jr.-Sr.

Qualifications

  • Valid Michigan School Teaching Certificate with Secondary Education certification, science endorsement and related endorsements.
  • Annual Career Authorization acceptable; 4000+ work hours in field may substitute.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Experience in Jr.-Sr. High preferred but not required.
  • Experience with FFA and/or 4H preferred but not required.
  • Clear criminal history, physical, and drug test; first aid training preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Instruct assigned classes using district-approved curriculum with clear objectives.
  • Use varied assessments to measure student growth and inform instruction.
  • Maintain compliant records and communicate progress to students and parents.
  • Uphold district ethics and implement policies and the school improvement plan.
  • Maintain a safe, orderly classroom that supports diverse learners.
  • Respond to district/board/state changes and support school goals.
